Palmetto is in Western Florida About 25 Miles South of Tampa.

Description: I keep seeing a starlike entity over the Gulf of Mexico that flashes in colors like the rainbow. Last night I got out my camera and took some shots. Moving shots (without tripod) show colors.
Note: Assuming that the photo was taken on August 4, 2011 the object could not have been the moon as the moon set by the time of the sighting. Skies were mostly cloudy at 2,900 feet and scattered clouds were measured at 2,300 feet.
