Description: My 22 year old son and I were in a parking lot at our apartment building. I was wishing him a good drive home. I noticed a non-blinking amber light, much like a planet or star in the dusk sky. It was very clear that night. I remarked to him that it was odd and that there were no signs of blinking or any other aircraft beacon. We both watched it move South slowly. As we tracked it, we both realized we didn’t have our cell phones, so we couldn’t record it. After a few seconds we noticed another amber object moving at the same speed in the same direction. They were in a line. As we continued to watch, we saw a total of 5 or 7 of the same objects moving in the same direction at the same speed. There was a pattern to the objects, similar to the 5 on the face of a dice. It was certainly a geometric pattern. The objects continued to move south and both of us saw exactly the same phenomenon. We watched until they faded away towards the southern horizon. After I returned home, I looked up this site as well as flight tracking apps and sites to see if there were any aircraft records, but did not find anything. I think about this often as these objects were unlike anything I have ever seen.
Note: I don’t believe that the witnesses saw Chinese lanterns because the objects stayed in view. Chinese lanterns generally appear and vanish sequentially. There is some doubt on the date of the report as weather records indicated that skies were cloudy at the time.

In the description, it says the lights were not blinking. Given that, the description sounds almost exactly like Chinese lanterns.
For some reason I made an error and put blinking in the heading. I made the appropriate correction.
