Description: At the drive in theater there was an object hovering 100 feet above the screen. My girlfriend at the time said to me do you see what I see? I said yes. The following day I reported it and they said it was a Champs Chicken balloon, but years later now I realize there is no way a balloon 100 yards wide and 50 yards high could be allowed to be pulled that close to the ground. The airport was only 1/4 of a mile away. Why did they lie to me? I was young (only 20 years old), but it slowly moved away and with it’s brassy coloring simply disappeared into the darkness. It was just as it was becoming dark as the movie was about to begin within about 5 minutes. I know now that it was real. There were probably at least another 75 cars there and we all must have seen it. I got out of my car as it made it’s move away and it simply vanished or better yet blended in with the darkness. Note this location was at the corner of King Edward and Ellice Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. The drive in theater has long since gone.
