Bright Flickering Red-Blue Object Hovers Then Descends.

Location of Sighting: Smethport, Pennsylvania

Time of Sighting: 9:45 PM EDT

Description: A man and his wife were outside and saw a bright object flickering red and blue colors hover, then descend below the tree line and vanish. The object first appeared to be a star, but was brighter and of different color. The craft appeared to be hovering at an apparent distance of 3 feet above the tree line. The object was visible for about 5 minutes. The witness is a commercial pilot with over 1,600 hours of flying. He said that the lights were not anti-collision aircraft lights. He thought that the object could possibly be a drone, but he didn’t think so. He seemed convinced that the object was not a “regular aircraft.” He thought possibly that the craft could be a secret military aircraft. The DUKE Military Operations Area (MOA) is nearby to the east of his location. He said that sometimes he sees tankers refueling craft during military exercises in the MOA. The witness was in the Navy for 24 years and was a P3 sensor operator.
