Location of Sighting: Shoreline, Washington
Date of Sighting: October 16, 2021
Time of Sighting: 6:55 AM PDT
Description: I saw a bright light staying in one place. I don’t know the shape because it was still dark out. This bright light slowly moved behind a tree and I lost sight of it. I don’t know the color of this bright light because of the darkness. The bright light seemed low to me in the sky.
Note: My initial impression was that the witness saw a bright planet or star. Mercury was the only visible planet and it was low in the sky. Mercury is not that bright, but would have been visible and brighter than many stars. The star Sirius was visible low on the horizon. Sirius is the brightest star in the sky. Sirius is quite a bit brighter than Mercury. However, a check of the weather shows that skies were cloudy at the time of sighting. Therefore the witness did not see a star or planet.Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
