Location of Sighting: Port Charlotte, North Carolina
Date of Sighting: July 4, 2017
Time of Sighting: 10:15 PM EDT
Description: I was watching fireworks from the back porch and saw a bright red fireball, but it wasn’t a firework. It moved from the south to the east and was a little slower than when we watch the International Space Station (ISS) go overhead. It had a bright fire to it, like a red match. I was similar to what we see from Atlas and Dragon launches at the Cape. After almost two minutes, it started flickering and faded very slowly. I wondered if it was the Dragon returning (the launch on July 3rd was scrubbed at the last second), but Space X did not launch tonight.
