Location of Sighting: Remote Part of Ohio (Exact Location Unknown)
Date of Sighting: December 2, 1974
Time of Sighting: 3 AM EST
Description: A woman and her brother were driving across Ohio right after Thanksgiving Day Weekend in 1974. They were traveling from Pennsylvania to California. She was 20 and her brother was 18. They were in a remote area on a two lane highway and were about 30 minutes from the nearest town. The car, radio and lights started intermittently going out. Then after a few minutes the car, radio and lights died. It was about 3 AM. The woman and her brother were alarmed and decided to try to get some sleep and planned to seek help the next morning. About 30 minutes later they saw a red flash (like a meteor) that went straight across a field. Then the car, lights and radio came on. They drove away. Her car never did this before or after the incident. The woman kept this to herself for years. Her brother called when the movie Close Encounters of Third Kind came out and advised her to go see it. She did so and said that the sighting was almost exactly like the car scenes in the movie. She reported the sighting after hearing a UFO investigator on a radio talk show. Up to that point she wasn’t sure where to report a UFO sighting until she listened to the show.
Witness Response to Investigator Questions: William: My car engine, lights and radio all back on all together at once. We had not turned anything off because it had died. The red light traveled horizontal to the ground and 2 to 3 minutes later the car came back on just as it had gone off.
Note: It is bizarre that the car came on without the witness starting it. What would cause this? Perhaps it was a warp in space or time associated with the UFO?Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
