Description: My wife mentioned I should report this after hearing Coast To Coast AM on 12/31. Early on 12/22/12 at about 1:45 AM I looked out my front window and watched what I first thought was a jet coming in to land at Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska. I spent the evening playing a football game on play station and had just finished. I was getting ready for bed and unwinding. I saw two orange lights in the distance. I would estimate 1000 feet up in the distance heading east to west. Then I noticed a few more behind them following, then I thought “how odd, are they helicopters?” There were no flashing lights like a jet or plane or helicopters would have on. They probably came close to my house as much as 2 miles away and the first two went straight up into the sky and as I watched the others did the same thing. I counted 11 and rushed to wake up my wife saying this is not normal. There were a total of 15 to 17 of them. The odd thing is that they hit this one part of the sky and all went directly up and eventually out of sight. It was also weird that some of them were in straight formation. They could not have been a balloon.
