Description: Hi there. I live in Hadley, Massachusetts in what is called in the Pioneer (or Connecticut) Valley. We recently moved into our new house which is on the flat floor of the valley near the CT ricer. I woke-up this morning at 6 AM to use the bathroom. It was still very dark with the early hint of light on the eastern horizon. I noticed an enormously bright pulsating light about 1/3 above the horizon in a perfectly clear sky. It sometimes appeared to be spinning. Sometimes the light would appear to expand vertically in the middle as well. Other times it appeared to shrink, but it never left that spot. Then I noticed that “sparks” of light flashed in different directions as if signaling the larger light. They would then disappear. Occasionally I noticed flashes of light near the horizon light a flash bulb would give off. I tried to take a photo with my cell phone, but oddly the screen turned black and would not function. After about 15 minutes a large black cloud mass appeared and drifted in front of it. There is no way was this a star!
