February 26, 2012 – Olathe, Kansas – 7:50 PM to 8 PM CST

Description: I saw four individual orange balls of light traveling from the West-Southwest turning to North then East. The lights were about 1 to 2 miles South of where I was standing. Their speed was too slow for jet planes, too fast for hot air balloons and hot air baloons don’t follow each other or make right turns or fly at night. The speed was maybe 50 MPH. There were no standard aircraft lights (red, green and white). There was no airplane propellar or helicopter prop sounds. It was just silent. There are a few airfields in the area: New Century Airport KS about 10 miles Southwest, Executive airport Johnson County KS about 2 miles East, Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base is a closed United States Air Force base 17 miles East, then Whiteman Air Force Base 60 miles East. I live in a flight path and I am familiar with the aircraft and the sounds they make. I viewed these orange balls of light for about 10 to 15 minutes along with my wife, so they weren’t traveling at a high rate of speed.
