Flashing Light Moves Around Sky, Leaves Trail.

Description: I was on my driveway. We live in the bush, and I let the dogs out and they go and so do if I feel inclined. It was a mostly clear night. I was looking at the stars as I do when in that position. At about 45 degrees in a north-north-east position I observed a flashing light. At first I thought it was a satellite, but it moved and flashed and moved and flashed several times. I could also see that it was closer or more distant with the intensity of the flash. It moved very quickly and left what I would call light trails as it moved. It was definitely not a satellite. I’m 40 years old and I have never seen anything that moved like this. I called my wife out and we watched it move around the sky for around 10 minutes more, but it slowly seemed to move away and the flashes were harder to see, until we lost it altogether.
