SKETCH OF TRIANGULAR OBJECT PROVIDED BY WITNESS.
Description: I stepped out to have a cigarette. I noticed movement to my left, looked up in a northwest direction and noticed an object moving toward me at about 40 degrees to the horizon. The lights from the city cast a dim light upon the underbelly of the craft allowing me to determine it was solid and had shape. As it started moving overhead I noticed it had an array of lights underside, five total small in comparison to the overall size of the object, pinkish in color and appeared to be round in shape. The lights were configured in the shape of a chevron. The craft itself had a very distinctive outline, that of a triangle. The craft moved in a straight line from NW to SE making no sound, totally silent. The craft moved over the waters of Lavaca Bay and I lost sight of it. As to my feelings during the event, I became very exited, somewhat fortunate to be able to witness such an event. I was in a clear state of mind and knew what I saw was real. I had a very good and distinct view of this craft. As for the present I am left with a lot of questions and I would like to have some answers.
Note: The witness called on March 8, 2017 and provided his report. The above report is the original report that he submitted to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) in early October of 2016. There were few discrepancies in his recollection, but this is understandable as the differences were minor. For example he stated in his recent report that 7 lights were present as compared to 5 in his original report. He said that the lights were dim and yellow-ish in his recent report. He first thought that the object was a reflection, but realized that it was a real object. He stated that the object originally hovered, moved overhead and then moved slowly out over the gulf (bay) to the southeast. He said that the bottom of the object had a grating similar to a “cattle guard” or railroad tracks. The object was of a gray matte color. There was a “distortion” around the object. The object was visible for about 2 minutes. Subsequent to the MUFON report the witness constructed a sketch of the object. The sketch is shown above. MUFON classified the sighting as unidentified. I agree.
Update – March 10, 2017: The witness read the above posted report and provided more detail to clarify some points. He stated that the lights were yellowish at first, but changed to pink (or rose) color when the object flew overhead. The witness stated that the object did not move smoothly, but had more “abrupt” movements. He stated that he originally reported his sighting to MUFON on October 1, 2016 which is one day after his sighting.
