Group of Ladies See 3 Lights in Triangular Formation Followed by 5 More.

Description: My sighting happened Saturday night January 23, 2016 at 6 PM. We were coming out of church at Immanuel Lutheran and there was a group of ladies looking up at the sky. It was very odd I think about 8 orange lights. Three were in a triangle formation and 5 following behind. They were fairly high in the sky. They were higher than a small plane would fly. They were traveling from north to south. They made no sound. And then they converged into one point and disappeared. I tried to take a picture of them, but nothing showed up. I also tried to video it and that didn’t turn out either. Yet they were very clear in the sky.

Note: A check of winds aloft shows that the winds were mostly from the south to the southwest in the lower 5,000 feet of the atmosphere. Given the observed movement of the objects to the south indicates that the objects were not moving with the wind and therefore could not be flotation devices (e.g. Chinese Lanterns).
