Description: Monday morning, in bright daylight, 9.00 AM, 23 July 2012, this object was filmed above the City Center of Vienna. The quality of my mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy SIII) was not appropriate enough to zoom further in, but with the eye it could be seen as a rotating object and at some points very very bright object. (I guess that was due to strong reflection of sunlight.) I had the impression it was chrome like metallic, but this could be too much judgement here. It was not emitting light, but it seemed to be reflecting it. It seemed to have a high altitude and was rotating across several axes. The object moved relatively slowly (southeast), at the start of the observation, then at 01.01 minutes (of the video) it shifts it’s direction rapidly! Then it continued flying at this point in a rather more constant speed in a straight line south. You can nicely see it compared to the balcony of the building in the video. The more I watch that move to the side on video, the more it freaks me out. I could see it with my eye. The move was very sudden and swift, and rather not common to what I would expect from any object I know. I continued to watch it with my eye walking down the street in a southern direction. I could follow it for at least 5 more minutes. I could not hear any sound. It was very surely no plane. There was no helicopter noise. It was not a balloon or kite. It was rotating, around several axes. If it was a satellite crashing, it would not have made a turn at 1.01 minutes of the video and gone southwest. Satellites crash rather with speeds in the range of several thousand kilometers. Whatever it was I am not sure. What was striking me the most is that it was very very bright at points. So it must have a strong reflecting side and the rest must be also reflecting, but not as strong, as it was always visible, but at some points very very much. I could see people on the street looking at it too and seeing it. You can actually see right at the start of the video, that when the camera is not in focus, that the object was pretty bright when I started filming. It was really a bright blue sky with a lot of sun, and the object was extremely bright at some points. Maybe this footage can be used to be analyzed some more.

Note: If this video is authentic and the report accurate, then we have a good report of a classic silver (probably flying disk) exhibiting unusual aerial behavior. The witness has presented a good argument that the object is not a balloon, airplane or helicopter.

Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting. Be detailed in your description. You may also use our report form to report your sighting. Comments will be published if they are in "good taste" and not inflammatory.

This is an interesting video and suggests that the object is a genuine UFO. Nothing else that we know of moves like the object we see in this video. Today we are going to hear John B. Alexander tell the world (again) that the UFO phenomenon is real. It is very likely that in the same breath he will then proceed to tell the world that the Roswell event really was just a Project Mogul balloon. Two steps forward, one step back – from the Truth.

Now I watched the video. The person is one of these rare UFO shooters who is not suffering from Parkinson’s disease. If this is real, we can see a blinking weather ballon making a not ballistic maneuver in flight.
By the way, if the ballon should crash down he belongs to the airforce and all the little pieces of aluminum foil and balsa wood will be picked up to leave the crash site spring cleaned. They don’t want you to know how to build a weather ballon for this is TOP SECRET.

The flashing light is a navigation light, is it not? Why can’t it be a higher altitude jet? You can’t hear high altitude jets.
    Good day.

I think you mean Austria in the title not Australia! Cheers.

Yes, it was a typo. When you post and analyze as many cases as I do it is easy to make typos.

Thanks not cussing or calling me a moron as some other commentors did. Of course those commentors went into my “SPAM” folder.

Hey fella, I amm from Belfast Ireland. This is interesting footage you got there. I have never experienced a sighting, but 2 months ago in a local paper was a photo of a “cigar shaped” flying object in and around our mountain (which is a perfect view from my back garden). I personally didn’t see it. Apparently it was watching a helicopter which was in the photo also:
        1. Fair play to you for creating awareness.
        2. Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one so dont worry bout the negative feedback from viewers.
        3. Keep up what you are doing.

Thanks much for your kind words. It is difficult to continually update a web site without making a few blunders. I am anxious to see the newspaper article and photo of the cigar shaped object.

It sure looks like a UFO. Planes and jets don’t do what this did. Thank you for a very interesting video.

By the way glad you put the mean remarks in the spam folder. I really don’t like how people react to such filth. YouTube is horrible for letting that go on. I guess filthy remarks is their way of a second of stardom. LOL

  7. Robin Heiret says:

On second perusal it looks like a Mylar balloon let loose in higher atmospheric winds that are blowing it around.
