July 26, 2013 – Amelia Island, Florida 12:30 to 1 AM EDT

Description: I just saw your info on the web. My fiancée and I saw a strange blue light which illuminated the entire sky and beach this past Thursday night. It lit up the entire beach after an extremely low bass hum, then a crackle followed by the bright blue light. It looked like daytime on the beach for a split second. My fiancée is an airline pilot, and ruled out any weather possibilities, etc. We both were covered in goose bumps from head to toe, and could still feel a sort of electric current for hours after. The shrimp boats HAD to have seen this as well, but we had no way of finding anything else out. Have you heard of anyone else that saw anything that night? We were about 1 mile north of the Plantation. Feel free to contact me.

Response to Investigator Questions: Thanks for your quick reply. It was fairly late, perhaps around 12:30 or 1:00 AM, (perhaps closer to the latter) which would actually make the sighting on July 26th. It also seemed that the security that was patrolling the Plantation also saw something, because they were driving the loop visible from the beach pretty frequently and quite rapidly for about an hour or so. We arrived back inside at around 2:00 AM. Please let me know if anyone else saw anything as I am mostly just curious to hear another’s account of that bizarre night.

Note: A check of weather conditions showed that no showers or thunderstorms were in the area. Skies were clear at nearby Jacksonville. Therefore weather was not a factor in this sighting.
