Location of Sighting: Point Pleasant, New Jersey
Date of Sighting: January 7, 2022
Time of Sighting: 7:45 PM EST
Description: On 1/7/2022, beginning at 19:44 and ending at 19:48, I observed a line of 8 orange balls traveling southwest at 240 degrees to 60 degrees northeast. My observation point was 40.084750. Latitude -74.090640 Longitude. They were flying lower than commercial aircraft and made no noise as they flew overhead. The attached video is one of several I took with my iPhone camera.
Note: Sometimes orange orbs can be explained as Chinese Lanterns. Lanterns sometimes show a little “distortion” as they move. These orbs do not exhibit this pattern. The orbs could possibly be Chinese Lanterns, but will classify this sighting as unidentified based on available information. The bright larger object in the video is likely the Moon.

They look like badly out of focus Chinese Lanterns to me.
Yes, they could be Chinese Lanterns.
