Description: So I saw something I have never seen before last night and a little searching on Google brought me to your email address. I am not sure what it was to be honest. I saw a brilliant orange light about twice as bright as the brightest star in the sky, the light never pulsed or strobed. It just maintained a steady brightness and an orange color. At first it seemed to rise vertically to my position then changed direction to going sort of diagonal across. When it changed direction it started getting smaller and smaller until it eventually faded away entirely. I didn’t want to take my eyes off it and the whole thing lasted maybe a bit longer than a minute so I didn’t even think of grabbing my camera (though with my cell it’s doubtful much would have come out of a picture). I live close to the airport in town and I’m a smoker so I see a lot of planes at night. Again I have never seen anything like this before. Whatever it was seemed like it was fairly far away and maybe it was just my impression, but it seemed to be fading from distance and not a lowering of the light intensity. I am still trying to process it and research, but your page asked for anyone seeing something like this to report it.
