May 11, 2014 – Marion, Indiana – 9:40 PM EDT

Description: I guess it would make sense. A little after 9:40 PM a thunderstorm was just rolling in. I was with my daughter outside letting her watch the lightning in the clouds. It is 73 degrees. It feels amazing. After an orange light hovered for the longest time, the flame-like object looked to be fluctuating in brightness in the sky. It stayed hovering for a good few minutes and eventually drifted way and got smaller.

After this, three fireworks were set off maybe one street away in front of me. This happened immediately after the thunderstorm fell over us. It is a very odd night near Stephenson Street.

Should I be concerned?

Note: A check of the weather showed that a thunderstorm was occurring and heavy rain was falling at the time of the sighting. The orange orb was not “ball lightning.”
