LISTEN TO INTERVIEW WITH WITNESS’S FATHER:

Description: The witness's father left a voice-mail message regarding the sighting. I called the father back and he related the above story and how frightened his 11 year old son was of the object sighted. The son was playing video games early in the morning hours. The boy burst into his father's bedroom terrified by what he saw outside. He saw a very large blue spherical shaped object that emitted an orange glow to the rear. The object moved right over the house and then streaked away to the south. At that point a bright blue flash lit up the sky like it was in the middle of the day. Apparently 5 other people witnessed the sighting and saw the bright flash. The witness's father did not see the object or flash because he was sleeping. He talked to townsfolk the next morning and 4 other people said that they saw the same thing. Skies were clear at the time of the sighting. Similar sightings were reported over New Brunswick, ME on the previous night.

Note: The witness could have viewed a meteor. A check of the American Meteor Society website showed that a orange-red (and some blue) fireball (meteor) was sighted at Steuben, ME at 1:23 EDT. This is likely the same object sighted in the Houlton report.
