Description: Last night around 10pm on Nov 1, 2012 my fiance and I were coming home from his parents’ home in New Market, TN. When we pulled into the driveway he called my attention to look at the “moon” when I turned to look I was shocked. It was apparent that it was in fact not the moon. It was twice the size of the moon. Bright orange like a pumpkin orange. It lit the entire sky up all around it. By the time I had gotten out of the car to look it had set quite quickly in the east. It moved quickly about like how the sunsets, but a little faster not to fast to see. It was huge! Again this was in New Market, TN on Nov 1st, 2012 at around 10 PM. I am baffled.
Note: The moon was 93% illuminated and had just risen at 8:40 PM EDT in the East. The moon could have appeared larger as it would have been low on the Eastern horizon. Therefore this sighting could have been of the moon. Skies were mostly clear with a few clouds reported at 9,000 feet so the moon would have been visible. The sudden disappearance could have been due to passing behind one of the clouds.Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
