Description: I saw an extreme bright light appear at ground level that appeared similar to laser lights that I have seen off the highway and below me in a vast cornfield in the middle of nowhere. The light seemed to grow in intensity, and as it did, a spectrum of colors spread out, just above the corn and like a laser it seemed to have an abrupt ending point. These lights were far brighter than anything you would see at night whether country or city. The lights continued as I passed southbound on I-57.
Note: Perhaps the witness did see a laser light. These lights are sometimes used for commercial promotions (e.g. car dealerships, Casinos, etc.).
