October 8, 2013 – Near Salt Lake City, Utah – 4:30 to 5 PM MDT

Description: I was driving southbound on Utah State Road 65 from the East Canyon Reservoir area (Wasatch mountains) toward Salt Lake City/Interstate 80 enjoying the autumn leaves on Oct 8th, 2013 at approximately 4:30 to 5 PM MDT. Relatively few cars were on the winding mountain road and the sky was very overcast. While driving on a fairly straight portion of the road, a glowing white light caught my eye. The spherical object was approximately the size of a cantaloupe or basketball and was hovering stationary near the top of a large tree. The object seemed to shimmer white light yet did not blink lights and did not change light color. It was a glowing ball of white transparent light. I quickly braked and grabbed my I-phone (which was in camera mode as I had been stopping periodically to take pictures of the autumn leaves) and snapped a picture of the glowing orb. Mere seconds later, the orb appeared on the opposite side of the 2-lane road at approximately the same height off the ground yet I did not witness the orb move from one location to the other. It was simply as if it “disappeared” as it moved between locations within seconds. I quickly snapped a second picture before the object simply was no longer visible. No longer seeing the object, I proceeded in driving toward my destination. Once in Salt Lake City I stopped to look at the two pictures of the object I had taken. I was surprised to see that the object (which had appeared bright white to my eyes at the time I observed and photographed the object) appeared glowing GREEN, not white, in the two photographs! The lighted object I witnessed and photographed was not a reflection from another vehicle or street sign, nor was it a malfunction of my I-phone camera (inasmuch as I have taken literally hundreds of photos of this season’s autumn leaves on the I-phone at varying times of the day and early evening and have never seen a reflective green spherical object inadvertently appear in any of them). The green orbs shown in the attached photographs are what appeared to the naked eye as white glowing orbs. I do not know what it was I witnessed and photographed. I do however know I successfully captured whatever it was in two valid photos.

Note: It is important to note that the witness saw the object and did later find it in the background of the photo. The object first appeared on the right side of the road and then the left side of the road. The witness did not see it move. The fact that skies were overcast lessens the chance that this object could be due to a reflection.

Asking a physicist is pointless. You will get the uninformative answer that it might be plasma. Terrific. It looks like a plasma, therefore it could be a plasma. The question is where did it come from and where is it going? Why do these plasma orbs approach humans at times and exhibit forms of clearly intentional behavior (avoiding the cellphone tower while moving at speed, as James observed). When physicists are capable of dealing with signs of consciousness and intentional behavior in plasmas and orbs, it will time to ask for their opinions. The one I saw was as big as Volkswagen, but twice as long hugely rounded at the head and tapering off toward the tail. It swept alongside my car at immense speed late one night on an empty country road in Georgia about six years ago. I have read about one similar case in another state. It was brilliantly luminous and magnificent and certainly seemed to be going somewhere purposefully and in a great hurry. I mentioned it to a physicist whose eyes uselessly glazed over.

Yes, scientists are too quick to explain away sightings. So are special effects artists. If they can create it, then it can’t be real. When these orbs behave intelligently, it is time to look for a “non-scientific” explanation?

The Orb you witnessed wanted you to acknowledge it’s presence. Through my past experiences with orbs, they like to show themselves before moving beyond this realm. Often it’s friends and family members that have passed on that want to say goodbye and see you one more time.

I witnessed a similar object on I-70 in central Illinois around 1999. It was purple and cycling dim to bright in a 5 to 10 second interval. I would estimate its size at slightly larger than a basketball. It was moving at about 100 MPH as compared to vehicles on the interstate. It crossed over the interstate and was on a direct collision course with the top of a cellphone tower. It jutted around it at the last second. There were many vehicles on the road at the time. There were a lot of witnesses. The weather was cool and overcast. It happened in the fall I believe.

I have a suggestion: Why don’t you contact someone in the physics department at one of the Universities close to you and explain that you have photos of this phenomenon and see what they make of it. These things are seen all over the planet. It might interest someone that could come up with a explanation of what these balls of light are. I think they have electrical properties. I sure would not advise getting close to one of these balls because you might get zapped.

It was like 6 PM on my way into my neighborhood when a green light caught my eye in the sky between homes. The car in front of me slowed watching as did I and so did the car behind me. It was only about thirty seconds before it did a crazy 180 and flamed around. We all stayed there a moment looking in that direction and then just drove on. This was in Stansbury Park, UT about 3 years ago.

This looks exactly like an object I saw many years ago. I was driving down a country road at night in the winter. As I was driving, an orb of green light about the size of a basketball zoomed or swooped over the front of my car going the same direction I was. It appeared green to my naked eye and it moved incredibly fast and was out of sight in mere seconds. I thought it looked like a foo fighter.

I saw the exact thing late at night on my property in farm country, North Central IL. It was the same exact thing. I thought I was seeing things. It was about midnight, and it is exactly as explained here. It looked like a big white translucent ball floating through the sky. It was not a spotlight and it was not the tail end of a meteor. I wouldn’t believe it if I had not seen it myself. I believe the person that reported this. I have never seen something like this my entire life and I am in my 50s.
