Description: At approximately 1 AM on September 22nd, 2016 a friend (KJ) and I were skating at Kʰunamokwst Park in Portland Oregon. We were taking a break and just standing around in the skatepark talking. He was facing SW and I was facing N. The weather that night was dry, no wind, no clouds and fairly warm. While KJ was talking to me I noticed a bright red circular light appear in the sky behind him. The whole sighting lasted between 1 to 2 seconds long. The red light appeared somewhere between where I was standing and the horizon/tree line. I couldn’t tell exactly how big it was. I saw the red light appear in the sky from nowhere in my peripheral vision and immediately locked onto it. The red light dropped down a little bit and then made a 45 to 80 degree turn, without changing it’s speed at all and then disappeared into thin air. The red light didn’t make any sound. The red light was moving faster than a plane, but slower than a shooting star. When the red light first appeared in the sky I immediately knew it was a UFO. I had watched some Ancient Aliens episodes in 2009 and have always wanted to see a UFO, even though that show is ridiculous. I have included a rough sketch of the red light’s movement.
