Time of Sighting: 11:45 PM CDT
Description: I was outside tossing some trash in the bin. An airplane passing over caught my eye. I glanced up to watch it, but then something else caught my eye. There was a solid, pale yellow-orange light coming toward me from the South/Jefferson City direction. It moved steadily and then it stopped. It just stayed in one spot. If I had to guess I would say it was near Holts Summit, which is 4 to 5 miles south of my house. It maybe was a little further South. When it stopped, I had it framed between two power lines, our basketball goal’s backboard, and a tree at the edge of the house so I know it wasn’t just a trick of my eyes. I watched it for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for it to move again. I went in the house to get my husband to have him look and found he was asleep so I went back out only to find the light was gone. I know it wasn’t a star, because I double checked the next night just to be sure. There is no light there anymore.
