Location of Sighting: Moses Lake, Washington
Date of Sighting: January 4, 2022
Time of Sighting: 8:30 PM PST
Description: I thought I was looking at the almost full moon, low in the ESE, just grazing the power lines. It was cloudy/foggy, with snow predicted. I saw sparkles of light and periodic red and purple flashes, also I thought it might be meteors. Sometimes they hit the “moon”. I tried to take a picture with my phone, but I couldn’t get one, the fog was too strong. I sat there for about 15 minutes and just observed the phenomenon. I went inside to check my time and date app for moon rise and found it set at 6:48 PM in the 239 degrees WSW. I was facing East, but could see ENE & ESE at that time quite clearly.
