Location of Sighting: Hanceville, Alabama
Date of Sighting: January 6, 2020
Time of Sighting: 6:20 to 6:35 PM CST
Description: I walked outside to get groceries from my car and noticed an odd star that seemed to split and then go back together. I went inside and got my husband who is a non believer and asked him his thoughts. We watched it for about 5 minutes and got in the car and drove to the field for a better view. It continued it’s non moving pattern of splitting and going back together until 6:35 PM. Then I saw a faint blue and red light blink to one side and it was covered by part of a cloud (it was not cloudy) and then it just disappeared. My husband I and our two sons watched it from 6:20 until 6:35 when it disappeared and stayed another 3 minutes after it left discussing it. I was on my phone with my daughter so sadly I was unable to get any photos.

I saw something similar many years ago in the Curry area near Smith Lake. Only, when the star split, two pieces came back together while a third continued moving across the sky gaining velocity as it traveled. I never have forgotten how strange that was.
