Time of Sighting: 8:30 PM EDT
Description: An Episcopalian Priest and his wife were driving west on Highway 29 about 5 miles east of Oppenheim, New York. A full moon was visible to the south-southeast and a planet was visible to the left. No stars were yet visible and skies were clear. They saw a pulsating red ball object ahead. The object was stationary. The ball was a different shade than a navigation light. They drove another 100 feet and stopped the car. By the time that they stopped the car the object had disappeared.
The witness also stated that the Air Force had a research facility near Newport, NY. He stated that particle beam weapons may have been tested at this facility.
