Strange Object Found in Old Magnesium Mine “Google Earth” Photo.

Date of Sighting: April 29, 2014

Description: A retired pilot who is a treasure hunter was looking at a Google Earth image of an old magnesium mine that he has frequented over the years. He wanted to check snow conditions. He wasn’t aware that Google Earth images are only periodically updated and do not represent live images. The pilot called me and told me about a strange object that showed up in the photo. (See above Google Earth image.) The object was not there in his last visit in the fall of 2015. He has never seen the object before and said that it does not belong there. The Google Earth image was taken on April 29, 2014.

The object looks strange and I don’t have an explanation. The area is very remote and difficult to access. There were several feet of snow on the ground at the time that the image was taken. The area is around 8,000 feet in elevation and would be difficult to access even by snowmobile given the above conditions. The area is in high terrain about 20 miles northwest of Dillon, Montana. (See above map.) There is no way that the object would be a drone or could have been hauled into the area at that time of year. There is no snow on top of the object indicating that either it is airborne or hasn’t been in the area very long.
