Location of Sighting: Huntington Beach, California
Date of Sighting: November 17, 2019
Time of Sighting: 11:30 PM PST
Description: A man saw a bright object in the southeast sky to the left and lower than the star Sirius. Witness stated the object had not moved in an hour. He stated that a “Star App” on his cell phone did not show any bright stars or planets in that region of the sky. (I checked using U.S. Naval Observatory software and confirmed that no bright stars or planets were visible.) Witness further stated that the “entire” object flashed multiple colors (orange, yellow and green). When viewed through binoculars the object was shaped like the “<” sign. He also found that the object had a halo around it.
Note: It is difficult to identify what the witness saw. Perhaps it was a high altitude balloon or blimp, but this is speculation.Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
