Location of Sighting: York, Pennsylvania
Date of Sighting: December 27, 2017
Time of Sighting: 12:40 AM EST
Description: I saw a rather large brightly glowing orange cloud in the northwestern sky. This orange cloud was very bright. I stopped on the Shoehouse Road Overpass and watched this orange cloud for a couple of minutes. My first thought was that a huge fire was occurring somewhere in that area of York County, Pennsylvania, so I proceeded to try to follow it, but when I turned on the road leading in that general direction, the brightly glowing orange cloud had disappeared.
Note: Scattered clouds were reported at 10,000 feet at the time of the sighting. There is a possibility that light emanating from the ground could have reflected from the clouds, but this is not a 100% certain explanation.
