Location of Sighting: San Diego, California
Date of Sighting: August 19, 2017
Time of Sighting: 3 PM PDT

Description: A man took a photo of a boat and later found a small white object in the background of the photo. Enlargement reveals that the object is the shape of a quarter circle.
Additional Comments From Witness: Look at the little dot. You know I didn’t see it when I took the picture, but when I was looking at it closer it was a dot. I can’t begin to ID what it was, but it’s by the Mirimar area.
I’m by JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) and do see strange things.
Note: I don’t believe that the object is a lens flare or a celestial object (e.g. Venus, Moon, etc.). It could possibly be a balloon, but the shape is not consistent with a balloon. I also suspect that the time and/or date of the photo may be wrong. The Sun is too low for 3 PM on August 19 so the photo was probably taken later in the day.
