Time of Sighting: 9:50 PM PDT (other times on other dates)
Description: It was about 3 weeks. ago on or about 8/12/18. I was sitting at a bus stop, facing east, in downtown Portland, Oregon USA. It was 9:50 PM and life flight was flying by (hospital is just up the hill). Right behind life flight and literally out of nowhere appears a small white/yellowish light. This light FLEW past the helicopter like the chopper was standing still and then disappeared as fast as it appeared. I immediately asked the two people there if they just saw that. They did not as both were on their phones. Bummer. Then last night, 9/3, I was standing outside looking at the sky (Southwest Portland approximately 2 AM, facing west-northwest) when a yellow light appeared, again, out of nowhere. This one did not move. It merely appeared then disappeared. Now tonight, again in Southwest Portland at 10:35 PM, but facing east-southeast a yellow light appears in the sky, travels in a straight line and then disappears. All of these incidents lasted 1 to 2 seconds except the 1st one which was maybe 2 1/2 to 3 seconds. None of these had tails like one would see from a meteorite. The first and third were low on the horizon and the 2nd was much higher. The first one, as far as I could tell, made no sound, but then again there was the sound of the helicopter. The 1st and 3rd seemed smaller than the 2nd based on my personal observations. The 1st one moved much faster than the 3rd and the 2nd didn’t move. It just appeared then vanished. I see them almost every night that I watch the sky. They are always in the same two areas. Also some will hover in place for hours with slight movement, looking like a bright flashing star.
